Apologies for missing last week’s newsletter - I was out traveling and had spotty access to internet. This week’s newsletter may be a little longer as we pull highlights from the previous week! I hope everyone has been having a great fantasy football playoffs.

Headlines & Trends
Amazon Web Services (AWS) and SAP have introduced “GROW with SAP on AWS,” a collaboration aimed at expediting the deployment of SAP’s enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution by leveraging AWS’s cloud infrastructure. This partnership is expected to reduce ERP implementation time from years to months, offering businesses a ready-to-run cloud ERP system.
Intuit has introduced new AI-driven tax platform tools for individuals and small businesses, enabling tax preparation in as little as two hours and automating data entry to reduce manual effort.
Amazon and Intuit have announced a multi-year strategic partnership to integrate QuickBooks into Amazon Seller Central, providing millions of Amazon sellers with seamless access to financial management tools, including accounting, tax, and lending solutions. This collaboration aims to enhance sellers’ ability to manage profitability, cash flow, and tax compliance directly within their Amazon seller accounts, with the rollout expected to begin in mid-2025.

Recent strategic acquisitions and investments highlight a growing demand for integrating Oracle NetSuite and Salesforce platforms. Notably, NetSuite’s new connector for Salesforce enables real-time data synchronization, enhancing financial and order management capabilities.
Intuit has partnered with Dutch payments leader Adyen to enhance payment management for small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) in the UK by integrating Adyen’s payment services into QuickBooks Online. This collaboration aims to automate financial processes, offer flexible payment options, and improve cash flow management for SMBs.
Zoho Corporation has launched Zoho Payroll, an end-to-end solution designed to streamline payroll management, ensure compliance, and automate tax payments and filings for businesses across all 50 U.S. states.

Research presented at Black Hat Europe 2024 reveals a significant increase in cyberattacks targeting SAP enterprise systems, with a 400% rise in ransomware incidents involving SAP since 2021. Threat actors, including cybercriminal groups and espionage crews, are exploiting unpatched vulnerabilities, leading to a surge in demand for SAP zero-day exploits.
Accenture has been the beneficiary of the Army’s SAP provider contract (worth ~1 Billion) Groundswell’s legal challenge against the U.S. Army’s award of a $1 billion Enterprise Business Systems-Convergence (EBS-C) contract to Accenture Federal Services has encountered delays due to disputes over access to sealed court filings. Groundswell seeks permission for former SAP executive Uli Werner to review these documents to support their case, while Accenture Federal Services objects to this request. An interesting window into the world of ERP contracts in the government sphere.
